Terms: This is a casual, full time job, which requires working evenings, nights, and weekends. Shift work is involved.

Salary: will be $16.07 per hour for a 1 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school.

Experience: at least a full year’s experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Social Service Worker (SSW) Diploma, Community Support Worker (CSW) Diploma, Human Services Diploma, Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate, First Aid Certificate.

Work Setting: Group home

Target Groups or Clients: Male, Female, Persons who are deaf/hard of hearing, Persons who are blind/visually impaired, Persons with intellectual disabilities, Persons with physical disabilities, Persons with mental health disabilities, Persons with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI)

Type of Community or Social Service: Personal and social adjustment and health (substance abuse, gambling, behaviour disorders)

Specific Skills: Assess client’s relevant skill strengths and development needs, Provide suicide and crisis intervention, Resolve conflict situations, Implement behaviour management programs, Provide personal services support to persons with special needs

Additional Skills: Housekeeping activities, Food preparation

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Physically demanding

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Valid driver’s licence, Public transportation is not available
