Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant. Education: The applicant should have completed high school, completed college or technical training. Experience: at least three years’ experience. Credentials required: The applicant should have Small Equipment Mechanic Trade Certification. Type of Equipment: Outboard motors, Gasoline-powered equipment, Motor boats, Diesel-powered equipment Specific Skills: Inspect and test engines and motors to diagnose and isolate faults, Adjust, repair or replace parts using hand tools and equipment, Test and adjust repaired equipment for proper performance, Perform scheduled maintenance service on equipment Additional Skills: Estimate repair costs Security and Safety: Driver’s validity license check Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Ability to distinguish between colours, Bending, crouching, kneeling Work Location Information: In shop Essential Skills: Reading text, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing Profile: for Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron The Oldest Yacht Squadron in North America, situated on the view of the North West Arm.
