Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days. Some overtime will be available.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Driver’s Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, WHMIS Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Air Brake Adjustment Certificate.

Type of Travel: Local, Provincial/territorial

Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Maintenance and repair reports

Communication Equipment Experience: Cellular phone, Satellite tracking (GPS) equipment

Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)

Specific Skills: Loading and unloading of goods, Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Perform brake adjustments, Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness, Perform preventive maintenance

Additional Skills: Professionalism in customer service

Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract)

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Essential Skills: Reading text, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others

Other Information: License to operate a boom would be an asset. Job would also include yard work when not trucking. Some equipment assembly, unloading deliveries, cleaning units, etc.
