Shift work is involved. Some overtime will be available. Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant. Education: The applicant should have completed high school, completed college or technical training, completed university. Experience: is an asset. Credentials required: The applicant should have Human Services Diploma, Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate, Medication Administration Certificate, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate, First Aid Certificate. Work Setting: Group home Target Groups or Clients: Male, Female, Seniors, Persons who are deaf/hard of hearing, Persons who are blind/visually impaired, Persons with intellectual disabilities, Persons with physical disabilities, Persons with mental health disabilities, Persons with learning disabilities Type of Community or Social Service: Education or training, Personal and social adjustment and health (substance abuse, gambling, behaviour disorders), Programs dealing with Autism Spectrum Disorder Specific Skills: Obtain information and prepare reports or case histories, Implement life skills workshops, Assess client’s relevant skill strengths and development needs, Conduct follow-up assessments, Provide suicide and crisis intervention, Resolve conflict situations, Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses, Implement behaviour management programs, Provide personal services support to persons with special needs, Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients, Develop service intervention logic models and outcome measures, Maintain program statistics for purposes of evaluation and research, Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of treatment programs Additional Skills: Administrative and office activities, Research techniques, Sign language, Housekeeping activities, Food preparation Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Physically demanding Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Own vehicle, Vehicle supplied by employer, Valid driver’s licence Work Location Information: Work in employer’s/client’s home, Rural community Ability to Supervise: 5-10 people Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Child abuse registry check Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Significant use of memory, Finding information, Computer use, Continuous learning Other Information: Developmental Home - Send resume to the attention of Sandi Graham-Muise.
