Education: The applicant should have completed college or technical training.

Experience: a modicum is required.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Licensure by the appropriate province or territory of work, Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work, Completion of the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination, First Aid Certificate.

Work Setting: Community health clinic or centre, Home care or visiting care agency, Physician’s office

Registered Nursing Assistant Specific Skills: Take patients’ blood pressure, temperature and pulse, Monitor established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy, Provide safety and health education to individuals and their families

Additional Skills: Monitor patients’ progress and report any changes

Security and Safety: Bondable, Criminal record check, Child welfare check, Driving record check (abstract), Eligible for professional liability insurance
