Terms: This is a casual, part time job, which requires working days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Shift work is involved.

Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school.

Experience: is an asset.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate, First Aid Certificate.

Work Setting: Group home

Target Groups or Clients: Male, Persons with intellectual disabilities

Specific Skills: Assess client’s relevant skill strengths and development needs, Resolve conflict situations, Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses, Implement behaviour management programs, Provide personal services support to persons with special needs

Additional Skills: Housekeeping activities, Food preparation

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure, Physically demanding

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Valid driver’s licence, Public transportation is not available

Work Location Information: Rural community

Ability to Supervise: 3-4 people

Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Child abuse registry check

Essential Skills: Reading text, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Continuous learning
