Terms: This is a casual, part time job, which requires working days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Shift work is involved.

Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant.

Education: The applicant should have some university, completed university.

Experience: is an asset.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate, Medication Administration Certificate, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate, First Aid Certificate.

Work Setting: Group home

Target Groups or Clients: Male, Female, Persons with mental health disabilities

Specific Skills: Assess client’s relevant skill strengths and development needs, Provide suicide and crisis intervention, Resolve conflict situations, Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses, Implement behaviour management programs, Conduct individual and group counselling sessions, Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients

Additional Skills: Housekeeping activities, Food preparation

Security and Safety: Criminal record check

Essential Skills: Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing

Other Information: A current criminal record check. Hours of work 0-48/week depending on demand. Please provide 3 work references with resume.
